Micro publishing house, based in Biarritz
Valentine is originally from the Paris region.
After studying at the École Supérieure de Journalisme de Paris, specializing in print journalism, she cut her teeth in sports (Figaro Sport, L'Équipe, Eurosport) before becoming editor-in-chief of Paulette Magazine and then deputy editor of Konbini Food. She wanted to leave Paris and chose to settle in Biarritz in 2018.
Our co-creations:
Vol.1 Basque Country , The Pinard Guide , Vol.2 Brittany
&
The Popote Guide
Valentine wanted to showcase the richness of the Basque Country, its actors, its producers, its artists, and its artisans. The idea was to share with Basque Country lovers the secret addresses she was able to unearth and the wonderful encounters she had there.
Initially, she began by bringing together the people she wanted to work with on this project: Lisalou and Guillaume, the photographer duo @Mamieboude, and Charlotte Sivrière, the artistic and graphic director of the guide.
Valentine explains to us...
how she designs her guides: "First of all, there is a lot of work selecting addresses, scouting, then organizing the reports. Then comes the transcription of interviews, writing the articles, selecting the photographs, then the layout, the finalizing, and finally the printing."
Valentine is very sensitive to initiatives that are part of sustainability. At Maison Marah, objects are handcrafted and produced in limited quantities. At Editions, all our works are available for pre-order to ensure smart and conscious production.
