Rope seamstress, based in Bordeaux
Violaine has always been passionate about creativity. From drawing to pottery, mosaics, and painting, she then discovered rope sewing and has continued to explore its many possibilities ever since.
Originally from the Oise region, she moved to Morocco before returning to France a few years later, where she spent her teenage years. Violane began studying public law and entered the national education system. She began her career in western France before eventually settling with her family in the Bordeaux region.

It was thanks to her very creative grandmother and mother that Violaine became interested in all types of art. As a child, she spent her time drawing, sewing clothes for her dolls, painting...
She started sewing rope with the desire to make her own bag. It was by developing a taste for it and wanting to discover other potentialities of rope, to vary the colors and shapes, that she then started creating beach bags, baskets, plant pots, etc. and launched Ficelles et Pompons in September 2019.
To create his creations,
Violaine first imagines the piece she wants to make. Day, night, in her dreams… She loves to innovate, test, and surprise. Once she has the structure of the piece in mind, she begins designing it. She then chooses the type of rope (hemp rope, recycled cotton, sisal, jute rope, linen, etc.), the colors, and the materials she will use.
She then sits down in front of her sewing machine and begins her hours of creation... She then finalizes the object by affixing her label.
