Illustrator, based in Toulouse.

Originally from Castres, Clara moved to Toulouse for her studies and quickly fell in love with this welcoming city, where she has since settled. Specializing in graphic design and communications since high school, she continued in this field for her higher education.

At the end of her studies, Clara decided to go freelance as a graphic designer where she worked on several types of missions: graphic identity, brand content, illustration, lettering, product design, etc.

After 3 years of self-employment, she created her fashion and decoration brand: Studio Claquette.

Always passionate...

Through graphic arts, she began drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil. Her passion for lettering came later with her first typography classes. Clara immediately loved working with lettering; it's a discipline that requires rigor and precision.

Her second passion is botany, green plants, and flowers; she draws her inspiration from the graphic and organic forms of nature. It was particularly through her art history courses that she discovered artistic movements such as Art Nouveau and Naïve Art, which allowed her to find her style.

A little technique…

When starting a project,

Clara starts by making a trend board (a mood board in English), it's a sort of panorama which brings together different materials, colors, typographies, graphic elements which will give an artistic direction to a project.

Next come the sketches, which are like a graphic brainstorming session. Once she has an idea, she creates the illustration on a tablet for a more polished result. She tests different brushes and color ranges until she achieves the final illustration.
